CData Releases ODBC Reader for TensorFlow

January 24, 2017

CData ODBC Reader for TensorFlow is a new open-source project that facilitates the integration of Google's TensorFlow Machine Learning with real-time data access through ODBC. Extending TensorFlow with ODBC connectivity provides developers with an easy way to connect ML with live data from disparate sources, enabling ML applications to deliver meaningful insights in real-time.

The TensorFlow project from Google is one of the most popular open-source libraries for machine learning intelligence. The CData ODBC Reader for TensorFlow standardizes the way that users populate TensorFlow with data through ODBC, the most commonly used data interface.

The ODBC Reader for TensorFlow allows users to connect the Google TensorFlow machine learning project with any SQL-92 compliant ODBC Driver. The ODBC Reader is driver-agnostic and can retrieve data from any ODBC Driver source. This includes the CData ODBC Drivers, as well as any other open source or standards-compliant third-party ODBC Driver.

"As information becomes increasingly distributed, meaningful organizational data is often locked away - siloed into an array of disparate data systems," said Eric Madariaga, Chief Marketing Officer at CData Software. "From CRM, ERP, and SaaS applications to various RDBMS or NoSQL database sources, organizations interested in applying machine learning techniques are forced to write data-source-specific custom code or live with static dumps to populate their models."

"Our goal in the ODBC Reader for TensorFlow is to help streamline the way that organizations connect machine learning with real-time data, regardless of where the data resides," continued Mr. Madariga. "By doing so we hope to facilitate the growth of ML integration and ultimately make it more accessible to organizations of all sizes."

The ODBC Reader for TensorFlow connects easily with the CData ODBC Drivers, allowing real-time access to a vast array of data sources, including: MongoDB, Couchbase, Cassandra, BigQuery, Azure, Excel, Salesforce, Dynamics CRM, SugarCRM, NetSuite, SAP, AdWords, Eloqua, SharePoint, Dynamics (AX, GP, & NAV), Xero, MS Project, Smartsheet, Google Analytics, Zoho CRM, Exchange, LDAP, Exact Online, Marketo, HubSpot, Intacct, SimpleDB, SQL Server, JSON, XML, Oracle, OData, SQLite, MySQL, Office 365, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and many more...

The ODBC Reader for TensorFlow is an open-source project released under the GPL 3.0 license. The ODBC Reader 'tensorflow-odbc' and full source code are publicly available on GitHub at http://github.com/cdatainc/tensorflow-odbc/.
