Congressman Boehner:
Our Focus Is on Creating Jobs for the American People
May 31, 2012
At a weekly press conference with Republican leaders, Congressman John
Boehner (R-West Chester) highlighted upcoming House action on
legislation to help reduce economic uncertainty and create a better
environment for private-sector job growth. Following are Congressman
Boehner’s remarks:
“You know, the number one concern amongst the American people continues
to be about the economy, and the lack of jobs that comes along with the
slowly recovering economy.
“That’s why Republicans continue to focus our efforts here in the House
on those things that will help our economy. Yesterday we did the FDA
reform bill that would help [expedite drug and medical device] approval
through the bureaucracy at the FDA.
“And
you’ll see us move next week to repeal the medical device tax contained
in ObamaCare that will drive up the cost of health care in America, and
drive many of these companies overseas.
“You’ll also see us next month extend all of the current tax rates,
bringing some certainty to the tax code. And you’ll see us continue to
focus our efforts on jobs including a moratorium on new regulations
coming out of this administration.
“Listen, while President Obama and Senate Democrats continue to stay
focused on the election, our focus is on getting our economy going and
creating jobs in our country for the American people.”
