Gov. Snyder to Deliver Albion 2012 Commencement Address

Michigan Governor Rick Snyder will visit Albion College on Saturday, May 5, to deliver the 2012 Commencement address. The graduation procession begins at 12:45 p.m. in the College Quadrangle. Snyder will receive an honorary doctor of humane letters degree during the ceremony.

Snyder earned his undergraduate degree, M.B.A., and law degree from the University of Michigan—all by the age of 23. After teaching at the University of Michigan, he went to work as a tax accountant at Coopers & Lybrand—now PricewaterhouseCoopers—and was named a partner six years later. He then joined the fledgling computer company Gateway and helped it grow from a little over 700 employees to a Fortune 500 company with more than 10,000 employees before leaving to form his own venture capital firm. He was elected as Michigan’s governor in 2010.
