SecureWorks Buys VeriSign’s Managed Security Services (MSS) Business

SecureWorks is buying the assets of VeriSign’s managed security services (MSS) business. The MSS business enables enterprises to effectively monitor and manage their network security infrastructure, and was previously part of the Company's Enterprise and Security Services disposal group.

The deal is expected to close on June 30, 2009 subject to the satisfaction of certain closing conditions. Other financial terns were not disclosed.

VeriSign’s new management has looking to divest some of its non-core assets to focus more on core products.

SecureWorks is a managed services pure-play. They provide Security as a Service for over 2,000 organizations. SecureWorks, focused exclusively on security services, is positioned in the Leader's Quadrant in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Managed Security Services Providers (MSSPs).
