Hesco Bastion Buys Segway

In connection with a merger that occurred on December 24, 2009, Segway was acquired by Hesco Bastion which is based in the United Kingdom. The acquiring company is backed by British millionaire Jimi Heselden, an investor in a Segway U.K. distributorship.

Hesco Bastion makes "Concertainer" units for flood and blast protection.

Additionally, Segway also received funding that will be used to support the continued growth of the company.

The Segway Human Transporter was brought to market in 2001, and was Invented by Dean Kamen.
