SAIC Wins $52M National Science Foundation Contract

February 8, 2010

Science Applications International Corporation has been awarded a contract by the National Science Foundation (NSF) to manage the information technology (IT) infrastructure and provide a comprehensive suite of IT, voice and data telecommunications, and related services. This single-award, time and materials contract has a one and a half month phase-in period, a one-year base period and four one-year options with a total value of more than $52 million if all options are exercised. Work will be performed primarily at the NSF's offices in Arlington, Va.

The NSF is an independent federal agency created by Congress in 1950 to promote the progress of science. Under the contract, SAIC will help NSF improve systems and database architecture; streamline data center and infrastructures processes; improve communications and collaboration; and develop a more portable, managed service provisioning model.

"SAIC is pleased to be supporting the National Science Foundation as they improve their IT infrastructure," said Peter Dube, SAIC senior vice president and business unit manager. "As a science and technology company, it is a great honor to be working with them on this effort."
