Nimsoft Buys Indicative
Software April
9, 2008
Nimsoft,
the “Big 4” alternative for IT performance and availability monitoring
solutions, has acquired Indicative Software to add business service
management (BSM) and end-user response time monitoring capabilities to
its widely accepted solutions for network monitoring, server monitoring,
database monitoring, application monitoring and service level management
(SLM). With this acquisition, Nimsoft is delivering the future of IT
performance and availability monitoring, where solutions provide a rapid
return on investment, are easy to implement and use, and deliver
complete customer satisfaction. Nimsoft CEO Gary Read will continue to
lead the company under the Nimsoft brand.
The current performance and availability monitoring market is dominated
by four large vendors, HP, IBM, BMC Software and CA (The Big 4), but
customers continually report and complain about painful complexity
resulting in large amounts of professional services and a high cost of
ownership from products that are dated and over-engineered for today’s
requirements. Nimsoft has built its business by providing more than 550
customers with unparalleled satisfaction and a return on investment that
is often astonishing. In many cases, Nimsoft has relieved customers of
the burden of trying to maintain complicated and expensive solutions by
directly replacing them. With the acquisition of Indicative Software,
Nimsoft will continue to deliver against customer expectations with a
single solution for organizations both small and large, whether the
customer’s need is simple device level monitoring or more sophisticated
business service management for the entire IT infrastructure.
“The merger brings together two complementary technologies and offers us
the opportunity to draw on a broader IT service delivery portfolio to
meet our future requirements. We believe that the combined resources of
Nimsoft and Indicative will continue to deliver value to organizations
such as ours and other enterprises,” said David Doherty, IS director of
Easynet, an international networks and hosting company.
“We see the Nimsoft and Indicative merger offering true power for
Enterprise Customers that are reliant on IT for real-time transactions
and services", said Tammy Board, vice president of infrastructure,
Brown-Forman, a diversified producer and marketer of fine quality
consumer products, which include brand names such as Jack Daniels,
Finlandia Vodka and Korbel California Champagne. "Moving forward, we
will have the ability to augment our IT systems with more
service-centric monitoring features of the NimBus and Indicative
products. The scalability and advanced features that this integration
provides will only enhance our ability to maintain a focus on customer
services and satisfaction.”
A key strength of the Nimsoft solution is its scalability and support
for heterogeneous environments, which enables customers to centrally
manage both virtual and physical IT infrastructure. Already recognized
by multiple industry analysts and customers for offering market leading
solutions that manage the virtualized infrastructure in conjunction with
the physical one, Nimsoft will continue to lead the way in delivering
innovative and customer-centric solutions. Indicative Software offers
complementary strengths in its service-modeling, real user response time
monitoring and application analysis capabilities for J2EE and .NET based
applications. Both products have been hailed by customers, product
reviewers and industry analysts for their ability to drastically reduce
the costs of managing data centers.
"With this acquisition, the performance and availability monitoring
space will never be the same. Nimsoft has built its business by
delivering against customer needs and our customers wanted us to expand
into BSM so they could completely replace their incumbents,” said Gary
Read, president and CEO, Nimsoft. “This acquisition adds strategic
technology, development resources, partners and customers to Nimsoft,
enabling us to accelerate our rebellion against what we consider to be
broken promises by the incumbents. They promise…..Nimsoft delivers.”
