TA Services Closes KPI Logistics Deal
October 13, 2022
TA
Services has completed the acquisition of San Diego, CA based KPI
Logistics, a multimodal 3PL specializing in Truckload, LTL, Flatbed, and
Managed Transportation services. The acquisition of KPI Logistics is
part of TA Services’ commitment to continued brokerage growth and
expansion of service offerings for new and existing customers.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
KPI Logistics was founded in 2010 and has built its foundation on
collaborative, long-term relationships to serve the specialized needs of
shippers throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. KPI Logistics
has appeared on both the Inc. 500 and Inc. 5000 lists of fastest growing
companies for multiple years and has been recognized by the San Diego
Business Journal’s list of 100 fastest growing private companies three
years in a row.
“KPI’s highly experienced leadership and dedicated employees are a great
fit for TA Services. We share similar values and work ethic that will
propel the company forward as a unified team,” said Scott Schell, CEO &
President of TA Services. “This combination will further expand TA’s
West Coast footprint and diversify our market reach into automotive;
chemicals & energy, including solar power; and consumer goods.” The
acquisition accelerates TA Services’ growth to over $750 million in
revenue, 800 employees, and 22 global locations, spanning from
Monterrey, Mexico to Toronto, Canada. KPI Logistics’ San Diego office
expands TA Services’ US footprint to coast-to-coast coverage and
provides a greater presence on the West Coast for future growth.
“TA Services’ emphasis on people, process and technology makes this an
excellent combination,” said Marc Macier, President of KPI Logistics.
“Being part of the TA Services organization and having access to their
numerous capacity solutions and additional resources will provide a
great avenue to continue growing and offering a unique and value-added
service to our customer base. We couldn’t be more excited to join forces
with TA Services.”
The
acquisition of KPI Logistics is another example of recent strategic
developments in TA Services’ business, building on the acquisition of C2
Freight Resources in May 2022, Scout Logistics in August 2021, Top Gun
Freight in November 2020, the merger with Sellers Logistics in December
2019, and the acquisition of Celadon Logistics in April 2019. In 2022,
TA Services was named Winner of Food Logistics Top 3PL & Cold Storage
Providers, named Great Supply Chain Partner by SupplyChainBrain, and was
named a 2022 Top Supply Chain Projects winner by Supply & Demand Chain
Executive Magazine for the work that TA Services performed for a
Memphis-based construction project for one of North America’s largest
and most experienced structural steel fabricators and erectors. In 2021,
TA Services was named the winner of a Bronze Stevie® Award in the
Transportation Employer of the Year category in the sixth annual Stevie
Awards for Great Employers and was named to Transport Topics’ Top 50
Freight Brokerage Firms of 2021. In 2020, TA Services was also named to
Transport Topics’ Top 50 Freight Brokerage Firms and Inbound Logistics’
Top 100 Third-Party Logistics Providers lists. |
