December 21, 2021

DHL Supply Chain capitalized on the booming e-commerce phenomenon by processing 3 million orders with 11+ million items shipped during the 7-day time period between Black Friday (Nov. 26) and Dec. 3. Peak day demand during that week was nearly 14 times higher than the average day. Additionally, 99.98 percent of orders were processed within promised service levels.

Comments from Kraig Foreman, President, e-commerce, DHL Supply Chain:

“We have been planning for Peak Season 2021 with our customers since January, putting our planning, analytics, and operations excellence in place to enable our customers to win the peak shopping season.”

“Our customers overcame the challenges present in today’s retail and e-commerce space increasing capacity 425 percent between Black Friday and Cyber Monday over the average day in 2021.”

“It’s been a great year for us. We are seeing about a 7 to 10 percent increase across our business in November and December so far.”

“We added more than 8,000 associates during this Peak season, luring them to DHL Supply Chain through our culture, compensation and the ability to work with the latest in warehouse technology.”

“E-commerce growth is a permanent trend. Black Friday and Cyber Monday will come in at par compared to last year but consumers are spreading out their spending during the holidays.”

“We are poised to help organizations survive today’s infrastructure challenges and create a strong roadmap for our partners to succeed.”
